His first dentist visit

Baylor saw the dentist this week and he did so well. He loved the chair with the control buttons...up, down, up down, up down...

he loved the sunglasses they gave him to wear

and was so comfortable that they went ahead and polished his teeth. He even let them brush some fluoride on. I was so proud of how well he did. He gets to go the regular hygienist at his next visit...no more baby visits for him! Unfortunately his paci needs to go away. He only takes it while he sleeps but that is enough that his teeth are not aligned correctly. Poor guy...I still let him fall asleep with it but then I go in and swipe it out of his mouth as soon as he is snoozing.


On the way home he did the same thing Pay did after her first dentist visit...pulled the floss completely out of it's box.

This girl loves her "new" old bike. We were nervous to have Santa bring it since we figured she would never get out to ride it due to the cold weather. So glad Santa knew better. These 40-50 degree days are perfect for riding.

She chose 2 lucky ponies to come to the park and ride in her bike basket. She was too cute gently ringing her turtle bell to let the walkers know she was coming up behind them. She was so proud of her "new" old bike.

B loves "riding" his bike too.

before.....Pay's hand-me-down bike that hse has decided that she LOVES. Took her a while to want to ride a bike but she has become very comfortable on this particular bike. Since we didn't have the heart to completely get rid of it, we decided to trick it out preppy-style!

After...pink and green with a Nantucket basket and a turtle horn/bell.

had to put out the reindeer food, complete with glitter (so the reindeer can see the reflection off the moon and guide Santa to our house).

ready for the big day. Although it took us hours since Pay kept coming out of her room yelling,"Have you seen him yet?" I made the mistake of telling her that I would let her know if I saw Santa. She was sure that she heard reindeer hooves on the roof.

Pay loves her My Little Ponies. Unfortunately when she misbehaves she loses one of them. Santa is so magical though that he found and returned all of the ponies that were gone forever ;o) This was by far her favorite gift, sweet lady!

1st gift opened was from their crazy aunt Carrie...a streamer ball full of gifts

candy, it was almost impossible to get them to move away from their stockings and on to their presents...strange kids!

the boy LOVED his new car ramp. Now when he wakes up instead of ,"Eat, eat, eat" he says, "Play, play, play".

the lady got a new camera. Her mama is hoping that she will come to appreciate how hard it is to get a good photo when your subject won't look into the camera. We'll see how that goes.

Miss Pay was a mechanical doll in The Nutcracker. She missed the last couple of dance lessons so she was a little bit confused on stage (along with every other 4 year old in her class). But, she did a great job!

It's almost here...Payson's 4th birthday!

She celebrated today at school with this super-cool crown that her super-cool parents made her. I can't believe our sweet little lady is going to be 4 years old tomorrow. Tomorrow is going to be so exciting!!

We had one of the best 4th of July weekends that I can remember.

we did some beach exploring at Shan and Michele's,

B tried on his new life jacket. Rob was nervous that he was suffocating. But, this is just what happens when you try to put a life jacket on a kid with no neck.

2 big things happened this week:

this little girl had meat for the first time. Her teachers gave her a hot dog at her celebration the other night. It didn't occur to me to mention that she doesn't eat meat because she doesn't eat lunch at school. She eats veggie dogs pretty regularly so she probably had no idea that they were different. I am just glad it didn't make her sick. But, man, couldn't her first bite of meat been something a little less meaty then a hot dog? Ugghh,

and then there's this little angel He decided to take off his diaper at the end of his nap yesterday and play with his poop. He smeared it everywhere! eyes, nose, feet, all in the mesh of the pack-n-play. He is trouble! Oh, and this picture is not his punishment ;o) Just dada touching up his haircut...he is getting good with the clippers. Haircut #1 was not very successful but today's looks very good!

End of Year Celebration!

I can't believe we are at the end of the school year already! Payson loved school and really thrived this year. Last night we went to the end of the year "Celebration" and it was adorable.

It was outdoors and it poured rain the entire time. Thank goodness we brought the beach umbrella as a regular one would not have cut it. The kids did amazing...unfortunately I was not able to take any great shots since I didn't want to get my camera soaked.

The school performed music through the decades and Payson's class (the younger 3s) sang '80s music. "Thank you for being a friend"(with sign language) and "I wear my sunglasses at night". I am not sure that Payson even sang one word but she looked pretty cute up there

this may just be the best week of the summer. the weather is unbelievable and the tourists have not arrived yet. A perfect combination that is rarely found on Cape Cod.

We headed down to Brewster to check out the lighting for a photo shoot I have coming up. What an amazing spot! Years ago I had my senior pictures done here and have been back only a handful of times. After our visit tonight though, I believe this will become a favorite spot of ours. Payson could barely contain herself with all of the creatures in the tidal flats.

I surprised the birthday boy with a trip to Boston yesterday. We had a beautiful view from our hotel room.

The front desk lady surprised him with a beer and wine birthday tray.

After taking care of the tray we headed out to the Sox game. It was a great game and the weather was amazing! We ended the night with some sushi, a pitcher of Pabst Blue Ribbon, and a dip in the hotel pool. It was so nice to get away but even nicer to come home to this little girl and her brother.

1 year stats

The boy was healthy and happy going into his 1 year appointment...

he weighed in at 24.2lbs which is around the 75th %-ile, he is 32 inches long which puts him in the 97th %-ile, and his big, wonderful head is still off the charts at 20 inches.

While we were there we discovered that he had a double ear infection. No symptoms at all. Hello antibiotics...Ugghhh!

We brought him in again this past Friday because he had a fever and seemed to be breathing too quickly. They sent us home with a nebulizer which seemed to do the trick in the office. Well, when we got home from there we couldn't get the fever down and his breathing got worse. So the dada and the Buggy headed to the ER and spent 4 hours (from 10:30 -2:30am). Such a fun place to be on a Friday night ;o)

He has Pneumonia. Poor little man. Luckily he didn't need to be admitted and he seems to be doing much better.

Pay went to see her first movie in the movie theater yesterday. She was so excited but wore her winter headband just in case it was a little too loud for her. he is in his crib sleeping away after a super-fun birthday. He took his first steps last night which was so exciting for all of us. He is like a little parrot and repeats most everything we say...although it is mostly baby talk. he knows the signs for water, more, all done, milk, and says: mama, dada, puh-puh (Pay Pay), yiggy (Lily or kitty), raga (cracker), shh-shh (shoe), ni-ni (night-night). And, he gives hugs (melt my heart). We LOVE you Buggie!! Happy Birthday

Pay's class project last week was all about opposites. we decided to use her stuffed cat "marshmallow" and a carefully chosen rock from the yard.

later that night we made "bubble stew"

They love each other...they really do!

It took a lot of luck to make these cupcakes again this year...

and a lot of help from this little girl...

and lots of colors and lots of My Little Ponies looking on...

but the finished product is lots and lots of fun!


This year we decided to add rainbow sprinkles and a chocolate coin. Miss P. is more than excited to share them with her classmates for St. Patrick's Day tomorrow!

This may be my all time favorite picture of the Buggy...he seriously cracks me up!!

Mr. Baylor, you are certainly something else! There is nothing better than walking into a room and seeing your huge, chubby grin and your little hands just clapping away. You make everyone around you so happy. We know you are close to walking but please don't give up the butt-scootch...it is about the most adorable thing ever. You are a super-sleeper just like your sister. You have finally cut your third tooth but surprisingly it is one of your eye teeth. You will eat anything but prefer things will lots of flavor and spice. The plain tofu is just not cutting it anymore. I am pretty sure you are going to be a major meat-eater. You and dada will rock the grill while Pay and I munch our veggies. You are a perfect little clock...you wake up, eat, rub your eyes in anticipation of your nap, eat, play, eat, nap, eat, and go down for the night at the exact same time everyday. You love playing "Nutso-Maroo" with your sister and she can make you laugh more than anyone.

You rock Buggy and we love you so, so much!

after 12 hours in the car, we ended up 1 hour away from Pop-pop's house on the lawn of Target. The car ride was amazingly successful up to this point. Let's just say, if we didn't get everyone out of the car at this exact moment we were all going to completely lose it!

After a good night's sleep we headed out this morning to see our goat friends.

We ended our visit with some MAJOR disinfecting in the car.
