1 Week, 7 Days, 168 Hours...

What an amazing difference a week can make!! Well blogger world, I am back and I am a mommy!! So here is how it all went down...I know that you are all looking for details. At my Dr's appt last Thursday my Dr said that he was pretty sure that I would have the baby in the next 24 hours. I had been having mild contractions that were staying 8 minutes apart for about 10 hours. He told me that I was 2 cm and 80% effaced. Sure enough that night the comtractions started to get more and more uncomfortable and we went to the hospital around 8:30pm. We got all checked in and watched The Office on TV. My Dr. came in and broke my water. Things got bad really quickly after that. Let me just say that I have a whole new appreciation for anyone who can deliver naturally. Oh my God...I have never been in so much pain! Let's just say that when it was all over I had A LOT of people that I had to apologize to...thank goodness the Dr.s and nursees are used to women in labor not being "pleasant". Unfortunately I wasn't dialating anymore and I had to wait until I got to 4 cm before I could get my epidural. I didn't get it until 4:30am. Wow, that made a huge difference! It took 6 hours from that point to get to 10cm. Then the pushing began!! Poor little Payson Jayne...she had some trouble finding her way out. Thank goodness I had Rob and my mom there with me. They each grabbed a leg and the three of us worked very hard to help her find her way out. I don't know what I would have done without them. They have both been such huge supports for me through everything. I think that my mom stayed up for 36 hours straight! After 2 1/2 hours of pushing (yes, you read that right!) Payson Jayne (and her adorable cone head) made her way into our world. She had some trouble with her breathing and so they had to keep her in the nursery for the first 24 hours of her life. Rob was able to go in and check on her as much as he wanted and he brought me back updates as I wasn't able to get out of bed very well at that point. The next day they brought her to us and the three of us have been inseparable ever since. I never realized how much I could love someone. She is perfect and we have never been happier. My love for her daddy doubles everyday...I love just watching the two of them together. There is just something about a daddy and his little girl. I have it with my dad and Payson will have it with her dad as well. It makes me so happy (I am getting teary-eyed just thinking about it). Right now she is snoozing on his chest on the couch. I love my family!! And now for the pictures:

Payson's first trip to the beach. Relaxing on her Red Sox blankey from Auntie Kaycee. The blanket proved to be good luck as the Red Sox won that night!
