Another project..

So now that Payson is really starting to take in her surroundings I decided that she needed a mobile for her crib.. She is not sleeping in it yet but we are going to start putting her down to nap there. I have been keeping my eye out for a cute one for a while now and I just can't find one that I like. I can only find ones that have little pastel stuffed animals and I think that they would bore her. I decided to try to make her one that would match her room. I used the same paint that I used for her name letters and went to work.
Because some of the colors are a little bit boyish, I added some sequins to girl it up. As you can see I painted whales, anchors, seahorses, and crabs to keep with the nautical theme.

Rob tied them all up to the painted dowels and now she has more of a mobile then she could have ever dreamed of. It looks huge right now because we hung it really low so she would be able to see it.

As she gets bigger we will obviously shorten it. We laid her down to test it out and she was all smiles...so were we.

That is such a great idea - I always hated all the mobiles out there! Great idea!!! And so cute!

I love it! That is so cute. And, when she gets too big to have it in the crib you can hang it from the ceiling in the corner of her room. Adorable!
