I am trying to force some of the branches from my tulip tree (Thanks for the idea Sa). So, here is my before picture...I have them sitting out in our breezeway where it is cool. I hope this works...I really could use a touch of spring right now! Speaking of spring......birthdays, christmas, and all other holidays aside, my favorite day of the year is coming up this weekend...It's Daylight Savings Time and I am so excited! That extra hour of daylight every year is the most wonderful thing. And, I caught a Red Sox spring training game on the radio the other day . Spring really is right around the corner! YEAH!!!

I hope the tulip tree gives you a taste of spring...but please don't be mad at me if the forcing doesn't work. I've never tried forcing a tulip tree...although I might if only I could figure out how to reach the branches in our tulip tree- they're all higher than the second story of this house! To speed the forcing, you can bring the branches into a warmer room after a few days in the cool spot. To make the blooms last, you can then put it back into the cooler area. Does that make sense?
She IS SOO big! that picture of payson and her daddy is really cute- and shows just how big she is getting, so bittersweet!
