I don't get it...

A couple of months ago we had this baby that was, for the most part, sleeping through the night. She would go about 6-7 hours straight, wake up once and go back to sleep. THINGS HAVE CHANGED! Now we get to say hello to the sweet one 3 times each and every night. She acts as though she is starving and NEEDS to eat. We packed her full of as much milk and solids as we can force into her each night yet she still feels the need to "sing" to us every 3-4 hours.
On a separate note we have moved her into her bedroom and her own crib, finally! And no, this is not the reason she is waking up more frequently...she was doing that before we moved her. Anyway, I just really felt more comfortable with her in our room and I believe that I slept better knowing that she was right there. Having said that, I am happy to have our bedroom back. It is so nice to be able to watch a little bit of TV at night before we go to bed and she really does love her room!

Our little Monk-a-do has become quite a good little eater and I am still enjoying making her food. So far this is what is on her menu:

Sweet Potatoes, avocados, and papaya are definitely her favorites

Pears are almost always for breakfast...gotta keep a girl regular!

Butternut squash, bananas, plums, peaches...she could take 'em or leave 'em

Peas and green beans...unfortunately she is not a huge fan of the green veggies (I take full respoonsibility for this as I started her out with nice sweet fruits and I should have started her with veggies...live and learn).

I have mangos in the freezer ready to go but her daddy is allergic to them so we are going to wait awhile on those...just in case.

Oh, and I gave her a barley teething biscuit (sounds yummy huh?). She absolutely loved it but man are those things MESSY!

Other than the above she loves to chew on anything and everything. Her favorite chew toys are Sophie Giraffe (of course), her emptied out vitamin bottle with the squishy top, Lily Bee, my nose, celery stalks, and pacis (she won't suck on them but she sure loves to chew them).

So there is a little Payson Jayne update for all of you that are still reading. If you have any ideas on the sleep issue I would appreciate them and I would also love any ideas for her 7 month photo shoot. My brain is fried but I would like to try to do something creative this month.

guess what... I bought that bug for $168... LOL... it retails for $759!!! ha. I bet I can get it to work at home.

Anyhow - on your post - yeah - I found my kiddos did that too... and in fact, they still have periods where we thing we're "there" with great sleepers, only to have them wake up!

As long as there's no ear infection... I do let him cry a tiny bit... or try to put themselves back to sleep... I don't let them wail... but eventually they do have to figure out how to get back to sleep themselves.

I think all babies/kids go through spurts like this. She very well may be going through a growth spurt and needs to eat. If she does it for more than a month though it may just be habit. Do you put her to bed sleepy but awake?

Oh I have a love/hate relationship with those barley teething biscuits. Lilla loves them too...but I don't love how they end up smeared everywhere.

None of my kids have been great at sleeping through the night. I feel your pain!
