Memorial Day has come and gone which means that summer is officially here on Cape Cod. Corn on the cob was 6 for $1 at the market (another sign that summer is upon us). My Aunt Susan came to visit, we had a cookout with Katie and Eric, and some of Rob's friends from Florida stopped by. Rob shot off fireworks at the end of our driveway which is becoming a Memorial Day tradition. Overall it was a pretty relaxing weekend.
Payson had a cranky couple of weeks but the crankiness seems to have subsided. We keep thinking that she is getting a tooth but I think that she was just in the middle of a growth spurt. She has been back to her happy self this week...thank goodness.
I have been starting to transition her to finger foods slowly. I have started adding brown rice to her purees to make them a little bit chunkier. We have also started her on rice cakes, cheerios, tofu, and Laughing Cow cheese. Last night she had butternut squash with tofu and brown rice...we joked that it looked better than some of the soups they were preparing on Top Chef.
She hasn't said Da-Da again but we refuse to believe that it was just a fluke. We know she is "gifted" and that is all that matters. She has become so comfortable in the pool at her swimming lessons...we can't wait to get her in the pool and ocean in Florida. We leave in a couple of days for our trip and we are so excited!!
Okay, now that I have blabbered on and on I will leave you with a few pictures...
We headed out to one of the few beaches that we can bring Lily to the other day. Once Memorial Day comes they don't allow dogs on most of the Cape beaches. Poor Lily Bee, she hates this time of year...nothing makes her happier than a good run on the sand and in the ocean. This is a cool little spot that we may just fall in love with...it is dog-friendly, beautiful, and hidden from the tourists.

Last year we had such a fun Memorial Day weekend with y'all- I can't believe how quickly time flies! These are great pics- Payson's little striped hoodie is too cute. I cannot wait to see you in a week! You are gonna love how warm the ocean is down here :)
