We are so lucky to have such a healthy and happy baby (I mean toddler). She went for her one year Dr. visit today and she is doing great! She had to get her finger pricked for a lead test and to check her iron level and she had her flu shot. I couldn't believe it when the nurse did both and Payson never even let out a whimper...such a big girl. Her iron was a tiny bit low so we are going to keep an eye on that and start stuffing her full of spinach (my little Popeye lady). She has the "all clear" on all foods except for peanut butter/nuts...we'll wait a little bit longer before we introduce those. We are also putting off a couple of her vaccinations for another month...I like to space them out rather than having her little body bombarded all at once.

So far our one year old can say: Snack, yiggy (kitty), mama, dada, mook (book), more, shoe, shhhh (with her finger held up to her mouth), night-night, roar, woof, cluck, quack, and all done.
She sniffs every flower she sees and gives mooches (kisses) to anyone and everyone...my personal favorite. She has also started giving squeezes to her dada. We cannot read to her enough...she obsessed with books! Our friend Sheila just gave us a ton of books so she has all sorts of new stories to read. We just changed around the living room now that she is so much more mobile and she loves it. Instead of "the pen" we opened up the whole room to her and just blocked off the hazards with the gate. The bottom 2 shelves of our bookshelf now are filled with Payson's books so she can grab them whenever she wants. I have made a rule that I will not clean up her "playroom" until after she goes to bed. I am working on not being so OCD about having every little toy in it's place. I'll let you know how that works out. Right now the scene in the living room is not pretty and I am trying to be okay with that. She is sleeping from 7:30pm until 7 am and still takes two 90 minute naps a day. We are very lucky! Okay, so that is it for the "baby book" blog post and now here are some pictures from our trip to the beach yesterday:
