We had my work parties yesterday. Pay loved the kid's party but was still not sure about Santa this year.
Although she looked like she was on the verge of tears at first...

She made it through without crying but would.not.look.at.Santa and held on tight to dada's hand!
Here we are out on the deck with Pay's gift from Santa. It was cold but so clear and crisp out.
Reflecting on her time with the man in the red suit.
And on a non-Santa note...Payson has had 3 "time-outs" in her life. They have all been in the last 2 weeks and they have all been for throwing food, plates, sippy cups, placemats, etc on the floor during dinner. It makes me crazy so we have started the good ol' time outs to try to correct this behavior. Anyway, I don't really think that she is grasping the concept.
Tonight at the end of dinner she told me she needed a time out. I explained to her that she only gets time outs when she does something naughty. She proceeded to point to her pasta on the floor (she threw it when Rob and I weren't looking). She then explained to me that she was naughty and that she would like her time out. So, I put her on the "spot" and she laughed and sang for 2 whole minutes.
Not so effective if you ask me...this parenting thing is tricky!

Yes, this whole parenting business is tricky...every step of the way.
Hysterical. Wish my kids would offer to go to time and SING, that would be huge!!!
